"Through a series of measures, we want to reduce the consumption of resources, energy and materials at our two sites in Soltau and Walsrode in order to save as many CO2 emissions as possible. One of the measures is the recycling of X-ray images. Here we have a competent partner at our side in Schmidt + Kampshoff. In addition to the professional and data-protection-compliant disposal, Schmidt + Kampshoff also supports us in new projects: Recently, a data security container has been placed in our entrance areas, which patients can use to dispose of their old X-ray images in a data-secure and environmentally friendly manner."

"We have switched to digital X-rays for a few years now. Due to the 10-year retention period, a large number of X-ray films accumulated with the previously analogue system, which are now sorted out annually. The X-ray film box has sufficient capacity for a year's worth of films, is very easy to stack and, due to the secure seal, data protection remains guaranteed."

Current topics

Moisture is the number one enemy in archives. Patient-related documentation can be damaged by this. According to Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), measures must be taken against this.

In the case of X-ray images, damage is even more serious: once they have become damp, X-ray images can no longer be recycled, they have to be incinerated - the valuable substances they contain are largely lost and cannot be reimbursed.

Since the obligation to recycle in accordance with data protection regulations also applies to damaged and faulty X-ray images, Schmidt + Kampshoff has also developed a solution for this.

Contact us if you would like to dispose of X-ray images that have been damaged or otherwise destroyed by moisture, flooding or burst pipes.
